This section of our website is an open resource for professional Insurance Broker/agents specializing in health care plans, and their clients. Informed prospects are easier to sell and better served – hence more likely to be repeat customers! Feel free to browse the Consumers section of the site and to invite prospects or clients to visit it.
You are welcome to explore this site with no obligation, but with a limited number of open house sessions until you formally register or become a member.
You will see that the Consumers section makes no reference to any specific Health Care Coverage or health care insurance products, insurance related sales/marketing agency, or other commercial interests. Our goal is to help you serve the consumer, not to be a marketing or sales conduit.
You will notice that the Consumers section intentionally omits details or refernece to specific health care plans or products, and local implications, since we believe it is the role of a “field” broker/Agent to interpret these for the consumer. Only the agent can advise consumers on how local governing laws, special state programs, and the Health Care Plan options available in their area can affect them. We believe consumers’ interests are best served by reinforcing the classic and legal role of the agent in the health care plan decision process.
In return, we ask that you study the MyHIA Pledge © MyHIA.org 2008 below and adhere to it when dealing with prospects. If this sounds fair, you could also consider our Support and Certification program (click here). A glance at what it takes to become MyHIA.org
Certified (click here)will show why your prospects will be more receptive to you.
We have taken the profession of health care plan broker/agent to another level. Our Certification program will help you stand out from the mass of licensed agents. The program requirements exclude the fringe players, challenging those who commit to it to improve their sales, business skills and professionalism, and thus better serve their clients.
Alongside the sections specifically oriented to the consumer, the Broker/Agent section provides members with the following:
- Industry trends and developments;
-
State-by-state domicile/renewal information;
-
State-by-state non-domicile/renewal information;

As stated under the About Us tab located at the bottom of the page, this site operates independently of any health care coverage provider, insurance carrier, lead generating company or insurance marketing agency. It is funded strictly from donations and revenue derived from the Broker/Agent Certification program.
We take this mission very seriously. Below you will find a copy of the MyHIA Pledge required of all broker/agent members:

MyHIA.org Broker/Agent Pledge© MyHIA.org 2008
We commit to treating everyone in an open, fair, and equitable manner.
We recognize that the quality of our performance directly impacts our customer’s ability to obtain the best value health care coverage based upon their perceived needs, not necessarily what we think is best.
We, therefore, pledge to put our customers first and to subordinate our vested interests to that of the customer, understanding that they deserve nothing less.
We are dedicated to excellence and committed to providing value added service in a proactive, flexible and efficient manner.
We commit to stay abreast of the health insurance products available in the markets we serve and not to sell a policy unless we understand it.
Your satisfaction is a direct reflection of our effectiveness as an organization.
