Health Care-Anything but Expected!

Take a look at captions from the two Health Care Coverage provider’s advertisements being shown on the Internet and television recently. Do either of the slogans below seem familiar to you? What do they actually say to you?

The purpose of this exercise is not to single out any particular health care coverage provider, but to point out the marketing direction most of the major companies are now taking and how it is designed to affect you.

Get Health Care

affordable health insurance

When you take the time to actually think about the statements “anything but expected” and “hold my breath until” they border on the ridiculous! Isn’t the main reason to buy health care coverage so you know what to expect and so you don’t’ have to hold your breath hoping for the best?

Do you really buy into the notion that they really care about you and are concerned about your health? It’s obvious from the quotes above that the companies who have created them have clever marketing programs aimed at attempting to make you to believe it. Why? They want your premiums.

Are they really interested in looking out for your best interest as implied? Very Doubtful! They are simply trying to reach you so they can increase their market share. It is important for every consumer to realize that buying health care coverage is just like any other Insurance or financial related transaction. Health care coverage and insurance is a business and the objective of any business to make a profit. You will get what you pay for, but no more.  For some real world persepctive you may want to read some of the consumer stories submitted to us reflecting this is simply a for-profit business transaction (Select the Consumer Stories button on the eft side of the page).

The real issue here is to make sure you understand the coverage before you buy. Don’t put yourself in the position of hoping for they best. There are two things you can do to level the playing field:

1. Use this website to acquaint yourself with the three Cs of health care coverage Cost, Coverage and Control (Click Here ).  Details that may have seemed overwhelming to you will quicklystart to make sense; and

2. Contact a Licensed Certified Field Broker/Agent ( Click Here) who is willing to invest time and energy to help you determine your needs and identify options that represent the best possible value to you. Would you allow a surgeon to talk you through performing an appendectomy on yourself over the telephone (remind you of another television advertisement)?

The last thing you should do is search the Internet! That approach is likely to only result in further confusion and increase the possibility you buy out of frustration and not as an informed buyer. The cost for your Premium will be the same whether you shop on the Internet, over the telephone, or enlist the assistance of a qualified field broker/agent is the same! Which makes the most sense to you?
